Paper clip test
« on: 19 February 2008, 16:08:09 »

Ive got a 99 plate 2.0 16v GLS, and its only rev'ing up to 4,500rpm. Took back off speedo and found the emi bulb been taken out. So I've put bulb in and used a paperclip to get the code. Because I'm stupid I can't understand the code. If anyone can help me could I please email a video clip of the code which I've recorded to anyone?

Thanks

The way I read it is 16,90,03,40

I take it ten flashes means 0?

Yes, 10 flashes is a zero......already an interesting code there.....0340, cam sensor fault.....which would also explain the 4K rev limit (limp mode)

1690 is a MIL fault which tells you somebody had removed the ECU bulb....

It does point in that direction with the fault code and a 4k rev limit.
