2.0 16v timing marks
« on: 24 February 2008, 15:48:52 »

Hello again chaps,

Have not got a manual for the car, but i think the cam belt has jumped a few teeth, can anybody help out with information on where the camshaft timing marks are positioned? Again they are probably staring me in the face, but my problem with being blind to everything simple does cause me to ask daft questions!!

If anyone has a picture reference showing where they are that they could put on line for me, that would be even better!!

thanks guys and gals!!! :y

Regards
Frankie

Hi!
I have a 2.0 8V and I think the markings are the same.

If it is, the the mark for the camshaft sprocket should be on top of the inner timingbelt cover (which means that the cam sprocket mark should be positioned straight up). It's quite easy to notice. If the cam sprocket is in line, than the crankshaft sprocket should point straight down, towards a mark on the oil pump housing.

You may need a mirror to check the crankshaft markings.
