What do they actually do?

Is there any improvement when fitted? :y

As stated....
Small increase in torque
Small increase in BHP
and hopefully a small increase in MPG
and the car should feel more responsive to drive.

Ive got one on my 3ltr MV6, to be quite frank iits difficult to notice any difference, maybe a slight increase in MPG on long journey, but around London in stop start traffic makes little or no difference.

I did have a cheap e-bay one in before that and that performed exactly the same as the m-tek one, i know theres horror stories about no back from the e-bay one but to be honest at £30 if it performes funny just stick the GM one back in.

I have had the car on the rollers twice but as its an auto the readings are not accurate, the first time it came in at 228bhp the 2nd time at 247bhp (and was in total vauxhall, and Sir Sideways standard 3ltr auto came in at 249bhp iirc)

Unless i have a defective m-tek chip then in all honesty for a petrol i would say save your money.

Just my opinion of course  :y

I'm very curious as to how a car can be producing more BHP yet use less fuel? Not a smart comment I can assure you, I just fail to see how this can be the case.  :-?

I beleive its one or the other...

If you do not alter your driving style, you are rewarded with economy
If you use the extra power, it is similar economy to before

An improved map can do both.  My tractor has been chipped, more power, and about 4mpg better to boot :)

The M-Tek chip does appear to make a power difference.  However, you soon get used to that difference......

You should have driven mive at the weekend.  Would have given something to compare yours to.....
