Check the voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running at a fast idle (2500 RPM) and all electrical accessories turned off. Around 14-14.5v would be normal. It might just be that the alternator is overcharging the battery and causing it to vent.

Have you had an EML on or any other odd symptoms?

A bit more than that. I eventually got mine last week, £58 for a 71A(?) in total with TC card

I would do a quick check on the charging voltage before putting a new battery in as leaking through the vents is not a common failure mode IME.

You seem to be talking yourself into a battery here.
As Kevin said, do a voltage check with engine running
first.

Whenever I've had overcharging to the extent of boiling
the battery, it's always blown bulbs as well.

All you've got so far is some water on top of the battery.
This could be rainwater coming in at the bonnet/wing, or
dripping off the bonnet when you open it.
Also check the material that lines the inside of the bonnet.
Is it acting like a sponge for any rainwater leaks? Is it wet?
Try pouring some jugs of water around the bonnet/wing area.

Could also be a leaking washer jet pipe. They route round by the
battery. Operate the washers with bonnet open and ignition on.
Look for any spraying.

You might want to edit your post. Members children read this site.

With ref to checking Volts, yes.

If your problem was due to over charging, then you'll still
have the problem, and you'll just do the same to your new
battery.
