Squint sunroof and its raining!
« on: 01 March 2008, 17:19:44 »

Help please, It was a lovely morning so I had the sunroof up on the car today, Went to close it when it started to rain and its shut squint, its down on the passenger side by half an inch when in the closed position, Its now refusing to go up all the way and it wont retract back into the roof either, I assume its jumped a couple of teeth on the passenger side track.

Is there any way to fix this if I take the motor off? or am I looking at replacing the whole sunroof unit? It was working spot on last week and wasnt stiff at all.  :-?

any advice appreciated  :y

Not one I have ever seen before!

Have you tried pushing and holding the dial in whilst in the closed position?

How about manually with a BIG screw driver in the slot under the D shaped cover behind the dial?

Hi, neither of those worked as I had already tried them, I took the motor off and used a small flat blade screw driver to turn the teeth manually, front of car controlled the passenger side runner and rear of car controlled the drivers side.

Managed to get sunroof level with roof, reset the motor whilst unbolted from roof then put back together. tried the sunroof again and it started to work but slipped a couple of teeth, squint again :(.  repeated the screwdriver malarkey again.

going to have to change the whole sunroof assy tomorrow from the donor car. wish me luck  >:(

Although I've never done it I believe the whole heading will come out of the car if you fold it in half.  :-/

I know a way of getting it out without folding it, just recline the 2 front seats all the way back and it comes out a front door  :y
