Hello every one
just 3  weeks after spending £400 on my omega in January(which includes a cat)the bolt which holds the manifold to the engine has snapped .since last june i have spent nearly £800 on this car on timing belt, water pump, cam shaft sensor,2 oil and filter changes,rear breaks,CAT and a second hand steering rack  which was required for MOT.The front breaks still need doing and I still have the Ideling problem which needs sorting out.I also need 2 tyres +the tracking done.
How bigger job is this as i am being told different things.I love the car but have to draw the line somewhere sensable if this is going to cost an arm and a leg .Please  advice.

Well, mate, this is an Omega, so most of us, spent more than £500 on this car.
i already put 1200. Exhaust, manifold, 2 tyres, cambelt set, autobox parts, suspension (shock absorbers, rubber parts), LPG (which makes 15MPG) oils, ets.
It depends how important this car is for you. Omega is quite costly. I had Fiat Tipo, Astra, Vectra B. My brother has Passat, friends have Zafira, Vectra C, Ford Mondeo, and I must say that Omega is the most demanding car.
I told myself that the autobox is the last thing I can give a chance. If I will fix it (I'm trying to fix it since I bought it) then I will spent more on steering rack (knocking).
If my next trip to Sassanach will not cure my autobox, then "good bye, my love, good bye"...

Has the bolt definitely snapped??
I managed to remove my manifold (and i'm no mechanic) to find that there was a bolt where there should have been a stud, so bought new studs and gaskets from Vx and away it went... Took a couple of hours maximum...
Mines a 4 pot 2.2...
