is it the engine managemaent unit?
« on: 05 March 2008, 09:45:16 »

hi ,im new to omegas and im pleased with the one i brought recently :) . that is until last night ,i noticed that the tickover speed was only about 600 rpm , then as i was slowing for traffic lights ,it cut out and stalled ,it started back up and the engine management light came on ,for the rest of the journey home the revs went up 1500 rpm when idling at junctions and stuff. then when i got home i put the car in neutral and the revs were pulsing between 1 and 2 thousand rpm then it cut out .it seems ok when cold ,but the probs start after a couple of miles or so . i have a 1998 2ltr gls auto has any one had similar probs  and if so what was the cause of it ?    :o    thanks for looking

You need to remove and clean the throttle body and idle valve plus all the breathers as per the following:
