Not too bad a job, if you have air conditioning it can be a bit fiddly removing and refitting the compressor and keeping the pipes out of the way but apart from that not too bad a job.

Don't know about auto to manual or vica versa.

I don't advise swapping an engine from a cavalier (unsure of vectra) as I did.  Different sumps due to the cavalier being front wheel drive and omega rear.  Also face lift models have counter weights at the bottom of the engine which older engines do not so you may have to modify some parts.  I had to modify the oil pick up and taper tap the threads on the block.  I would advise trying to get a hold of an engine from an omega and then it should be pretty straight forward.  Lining up the engine to the gearbox was also a bit of a pain in the ar*e but no great deal.

Can't see it being a problem then, although don't know about auto to manual.

Hi Anyone on the auto to manual problem Thanks Julian.
You have to swap the flywheel over after removing the torque converter from the replacement engine. Pretty sure some of the wiring is different aswell. Put both engines side by side and check for any obvious differences. Wasnt to difficult on a carlton to do.

I changed an engine on a 2.0 with no aircon and it was a peice of cake.

If you're fitting into an auto, make sure you put the T converter into the box first..

if you're going auto to manual remember to put the input shaft bearing into the end of the crank first
