Oil Filter saga continues......
« on: 11 March 2008, 18:57:20 »

Got 2 new heads for my 2.5TD oil filter, 2 different part numbers, same part!!! Picture shows the head(s) that I have. Is this the right one for my 2000 model year/engine? The picture of the filters, shows the difference in size that is troubling me. The big one is the filter I got from my VX dealer, using my car reg. However, the small one is the one that came with the new filter head. :-?

Im totally confused, and don't want to burst the old one off, only to find its the wrong part I have. and the cars off the road till I get the right one :-/

Any advice much appreciated

Cheers,
Iain

93180093 (£4.88 + VAT TC) is the correct part for your car.

Take a look at this link in the maintenance guide, mine 2000 year plate was the larger filter when I took it apart, the same as yours the bottom one of the two.http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1164549800
Hope this helps

Hi,

Been told that part no. 90542605 (£22.15+vat) is the correct head for my oil filter housing? Any way to confirm this??

Just checking the part no on the filter head boxes, there the exact same!?! the muppet at VX has given me the wrong one, even though I gave him the number above >:(

Back to the garage tomorrow :-/

Not a part number I reconise, and it looks slightly different to mine.

I'm sure I posted up cap part number on your other thread, which I got off EPC.  The filter PN above is what I got from TC book.

The part I have is too small to fit the bigger filter, and the stalk that goes down the middle is way too short, I'll order the other part no and see what I get, getting fed up with it now
