Omega codes P0100 and P1700
« on: 09 March 2008, 17:59:37 »

Hi folks First time on the site which is an excellent source of info.        I have been an Omega owner now for 9 months after selling on my Senator. No probs until last week when I had a visit from my management light which doesnt want to go away. Misfired badly and had Camshaft sensor fitted now drives fine but light is still on. A mate has a Tech 2 machine available and is now showing up code faults P1700 and P0100. Any advice would be gratefully received. My car is a x reg 2001 automatic 2.2
Best regards Mossy

P0100 is MAF.  It may not actually be a MAF fault, but air/vac/egr leak.

Get you mate with the Tech2 to do a 'live data' test on the MAF at different rpms.

P1700 means one of the power/drive systems has requested reduced power.  Get you mate to check autobox and ABS unit for further codes.

Hope that helps :y

According to my list P1700 means can bus error  :-/ ........but if you check autobox ecu........this will probably also have can bus error........both which my 2.2 always complains of when i check the codes........but doesnt seem to make a difference to it........so would tend to ignore as i do.....

Yup, agree, but the receive errors often (not always) because one of the CAN systems (engine/box/abs) has errored for a short time, and put errors on bus.
