What to do...
« on: 17 March 2008, 20:48:18 »

Hello All, As your aware Im looking for my Omega but theres so many around with massive mileage on them and obviously with Petrol and tax going up on a daily basis (well it feels like it)

So I have a budget of around £2500 a bit more if im pushed.

Obviously I could get a nice Omega for this, but Im thinking LPG.

Now DIY is not my strong point, but it is my Fathers, and also with a few friendly mechanics in the area and on this board (anyone fancy helping) I have no doubt it can be done.

So 2 points, what sort of money should I put away for the LPG conversion? Where can I source the parts? What type of OMEGA ESTATE can I get with whats left?

Ill try and start things off (this is an estimate as I have no idea)

Budget - £2500
LPG     - £1500
Car     - £1000 a basic Omega Estate with high miles?

Personally I would find a decent car with lpg already built in as the cost of buying a car and installing LPG will pretty much always exceed the value of the car after its done :)

on will always turn up. I just paid £1k for an 88k MV6 with LPG. Couple of things to tidy aroudn the edges and some fluid changes but for the money its crazy.

keep the faith on finding one for a bit before you give up!

Failing that, I have a W-reg Passat TDi Auto/Tiptronic for sale thats around your budget  ;) LOL

So anyone who is mindful of rising fuel costs should get rid of there Omega's?

As the Honda advert says on radio if theres a problem, find a solution.
