Intermittant power loss
« on: 19 March 2008, 03:04:48 »

Under hard acceleration, my miggy sometimes decides to react like a slug crossing the floor of a glue factory.

i.e. not very quickly

There does not seem to be any specific pattern as to when this happens.

Service, breathers, fuel filter, multiram pipes. All done.

The thing is getting on my tits wick!

If I can't rely on the response and the power of all 6 cylinders all the time, then why should I put up with 20mpg?

Good job I have an engine transplant in mind! :y

But until that happens, any ideas guys? :-?

fwiw, I have exactly the same, just occasionally I'll put my foot down and nothing happens, have to lift off completely, apply gently back up to speed and then its fine again. I wondered if it was the LPG system but it does the same on petrol.

you're not alone!

Idle - Lumpy

Comsuption - ave 22, no better than 26 on mainly motorway

Multirams - operational

Leads, plugs, dispack - never changed since I have owned the car (18months) As for before that, no idea.

Lumpy idle and hesitant under load - could be either or a combination of leads/ plugs dispack.....
