Fitting Aux Belt Problems
« on: 18 March 2008, 10:05:41 »

Hi Guys,

Following from yesterdays broken belt and disappearing tensioner pulley....

Pulley is replaced but can't get the belt on am I missing something?

The two pulleys on the right, assuming one is aircon the other water pump!? but between them is running what looks like an aircon pipe and I can't find a way to get the belt round it without disconnecting the pipe and others.

Pic to follow and if anyone available for a call even to call me a spanner if I am missing a trick!

Thanks again in Advance

There is indeed an aircon pipe. Don't disconnect it, whatever you do. There's a little bracket holding the pipe to the engine. Remove the nut and bolt from that and prise it apart and you can slide the belt through the gap. :y

Thanks Kevin,

I got that for the bracket on the aircon pipe running along the front and near to the tensioner pully. This pipe in the pic above is right hand side pulleys as you look from front of car!

I think that (in the picture) is the pipe and bracket I was talking about. You'll also have the air injection pipe running across the front of the engine, which I hadn't considered because mine doesn't have one.  ::)

Thanks kevin,

Again I might be missing something and I had thought of doing that but if I put the belt in that way it would rub on that pipe.. The pipe goes between the pulleys and it looks like the belt should go on the outside of the pipe!?

If that makes any sense.

Did the similar job recently - You have to disconnect the multy ram (for access) and the air pipe(it is only an air pipe although looks like a small coolant pipe) and bracket that is in your way to installing the Aux belt.
You do NOT have to remove the air conditioning pipe.

Hope this helps :y.
