Glad your feeling better.

Don't worry about the camera, its not that bad, they give you a sedative anyway.

A barium enema is MUCH worse.

I think I remember why:

1) I am not registered with a doctor, despite moving here 7yrs ago
2) I do not go to hospitals (apart from that time 8yrs ago when I had no choice - I came round from 'a moment' to find myself strapped to a trolley, connected up to a heart monitor, in an ice cream van with blues and twos)

Endoscopy by mouth ... sounds OK to me .. :)

For the last 19 years I have been having 6-monthly endoscopy's and the camera+cable goes where no such device has any right to go !   The only good thing is the steady march of technology  ... when I first started having these the cable was about the size of old-fashioned co-ax (OUCH!!!!!!!!!) it's now less than a third the size.. and the pictures are in colour as well...  yup ... I'm awake and watching throughout the procedure!!

The only thing is.. I must avoid any "excitement"  ::) ::) for 24 hours ... 'cos that hurts just as much !!

The phrase "tears to your eyes"  :'( :'( :'( has never been so true !!!

I know all about barium , that's a white chalk stuff that you have to drink, my oldest had to have it when she was going to outpatients at addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge when she was two, and then they decided to send her to hospital for 3 weeks then they decided to operate and that's when they found out she could of died as she had perforated bowels, they were all knotted up inside her so they cut them and then she was OK but she was in all in all for 6 weeks and she looked like a cambium when she came from her opp, she was so skinny you could see her ribs...

thanks Tammy, i got to go and have a ultrasound scan to see if i got gallstones and if i haven't then they want to do an endoscopy to see whats going on in my stomach, because i keep felling sick after i was eating, they have given me omeprazole capsules, and they are working so fingers cross i should be ok for now....

The procedure I am thinking about involves a U bend being inserted into a major exit orrafice, then they insert a pint of barium and inflate it all with a foot pump.....its by far the worst think I have ever had done to me.
