Dodgy brake light switch?
« on: 02 April 2008, 09:24:01 »

This morning, I had a problem getting my car out of Park. After swearing and shouting for 10 mins, I noticed that I could get the tell-tail click if I pushed the brake slightly sideways when pressing it.

Does this mean my switch is on the way out, or can anything be adjusted?

I forget how much a new switch is, but it's not dear. You're experiencing exactly the same problems I had a couple of years back. Very embarassing at the lights when you can't select D  :-[

Not too difficult to change, ..... if you're a contorsionist.  ;D

About £15 iirc, and it varies for cruise and non cruise (though cruise one works fine on all anyway.

Fiddly, but easy if that makes sense.

defo sounds like switch, if moving pedal sideways a bit cures.  Worth just checking first that it hasn't become partially unclipped.

True, if it has, then chances are that the clip has bust anyway.  Its just my natural 'wishful thinking out of being too tight to buy one' coming out ;D
