Hillper's Boot Mod
« on: 12 March 2008, 18:43:26 »

In the Technical section of this forum, there is a mod from 2006 which describes cutting a red wire in the driver's side foot panel to allow the boot to be opened while the key is still in the ignition. Very useful. I have carried it out and it works BUT I now find the timer delay for extinguishing the interior light activates even when I put the key is in the ignition and start the engine. The interor light used to extinguish immediately when I put the key in the ignition. It's only a minor irritation but did anyobody else find this?

Yes i have just found this little problem last night after cutting the red wire a couple of days earlier. A faulty traffic master system was the cause of my recent radio problems and as that is now disconnected i have rewired the TM switch to the NC postion and joined it to the red wire. Now to open the boot with the key in the ignition you have to also hold the TM switch at the same time, this has stopped my children from opening the boot whilst we are driving!!
