Light bulb replacement - dashboard
« on: 15 April 2008, 02:56:18 »

Hi all,

Could somebody please help me?  I have one of the dashboard lights out on my 2000 2.5 CDX Omega which I want to replace.

How do I access this area, as I cannot see any screws fastening the unit/panels.  As usual I expect there is a simple method of reaching the light bulbs; is there please?

Thank you.  Lizzie Zoom [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

once you get it to the last picture stage, the clocks tilt out passenger side first. The drivers side hooks in behind the side panel at the door. when you refit, make sure the connectors are fully located

You'll have to take the dash out to get at the lightbulbs.  It's very easy - pop out the vents to the left of your speedo clocks and you'll see two screws.  Undo them, then undo the screw between the steering wheel and the speedo clocks.  There is a video which will show you how to take these out (link below).

From what I remember there is another screw to take out to the right of the speedo clocks - not in the video, so if you can't get the dash out by following the video you will need to take out the last screw.  You will get at it by prising off the panel to the right of the clocks next to the door, prise out the headlight switch and there should be a screw hiding behind it.  Take that out then remove the dash/speedo clocks - unplug the MID/TID (Multi Info Display/Triple Info Display).

Thanks, but my face lift 2000 2.6 CDX model does not seem to have the middle screw when I tilt the steering column!  Any ideas please?

You'll probably find the plastic surrounding the ignition/steering wheel is covering the screw.  I had to push it down with a screwdriver to see it (take care doing that or you can break the plastic).  There is also the possibility that it has been out before and not put back in.
