Hi Guys,
Back in Feb i replaced the oxygen sensor as i was showing fault code 0130, this cured the problem or so i thought   , yesterday the EML came back on again same code, and its not running right and heavy on fuel too.

What could be the culprit to keep killing the Oxygen Sensors?

2.0 16v eco X20-XEV 2001

Any help appreciated, cheers

Not sure though but arc welding on exhaust or a serious electrical problem I think..

is it a gen vaux part u used or pattened

 if theres a serious electrical problem also other sensors will be effected I think..

No it was from a motor factors   a lot less expensive.
I would have thought even a factored one would last longer than a few months though??  :-?

Do you mean previous welding? or the actual welding process could have killed it.  :question

I have had some welding done on the manifold but that was in middle of last year.

i had one go on my vectra got a patten part cos it was cheaper
that went wrong
got a gen vaux one
touch wood been 3 yrs now
 
only other thing i could think of is that cat is not doing its job and burning out the sensor

if it was arc welding, this can cause some unexpected results..

Oh no!!   mega wonga!! will try a gen sensor first then. Am i right in thinking that to check the cat you have to thump it, if a rattle is heard then its a gonner.  :question

O2 Sensor is upstream of the cat, so it won't be a cat problem.

Were the emissions OK at the last MOT?
Does the car burn a significant amount of oil?

I would take the sensor back where you got it from, TBH.

MOT was in feb just after i changed the sensor, i.e. running on new sensor and it passed with flying colours on the emissions test. I will try taking it back first.
