Exhausts
« on: 21 April 2008, 16:27:58 »

Advise needed,

I need to replace my exhaust its rotten either side if the coupling joing front silencers and at rear silencer, basically require new system from cats back! I have been quoted £473inc  for genuine VX system but for that money im sure I could get a stainless system. Im looking for a stainless system thats as quite as the VX but would like to change the tail pipe to a twin ovals similar to the Remus system I had on my Carlton CDX. Can anyone give me the name of a quality quite system to look at.

Thanks MARK

If you are prepared to fit it yourself (or find a mechanic who will do it for beer money) you can buy a new Vx system on trade club for about 250 or so.   The 3L tailpipe has twin outlets.

The original on my CDX lasted 6 years so no complaints.

Longlife exhausts will build you a cat back system from scratch for the 400 beer tokens mark. You can even stand in the office and make funny car noises to describe to them how you want it to sound, and they will do it!

I had one done for my Mazda Xedos 6 V6, told them I don't want it to resonate like a boy racer bean can but not suppress that v6 grumble, and they got it spot on.
