Traction Control Button
« on: 21 April 2008, 09:48:30 »

Does anyone know when the TC button moved from the area to left of radio up to above radio on prefacelifts?

I think I know the answer, but just what to confirm if its other peoples experience.

i have minifacelift, 98. back of traction control button switch is present behind satnav screen, same size as taller button, but button not present, not even rerouted to where blank switch was above radio. traction control appears to be automatic with no option to switch off. this may have been a different story if i didnt have satnav fitted. dont know if that helps or confuses the issue for you!!?

Excellent. So an early mini facelift.

Don't suppose you want to check how your Carin is connected to main body loom  ::)

I think it changed fairly early on in 1998 model year.  I think if you have TC button to left of radio, I think the plug to connect carin loom to body loom is missing.

So, now I need to find someone with early 98 one and carin to check how its wired in  :P

Its the carin bit I need checking. In passenger kick panel, carin loom (6 wires) joins body loom.  On later 1998 cars there is a 6 way connector, as described in http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1202730965

Looking to see if there is something I've missed, before I start attacking the main loom  :'(

I've moved my TC from button next to radio to above it :y

Still need to work out how they wired in Carin on the early 98s - though I'm guessing spliced in to loom  :'(
