occasional mayo on oil cap help

owned my 2.6 v6 cd for 8 months just noticed a bit of mayo on oil cap.
not losing any coolant or overheating
any advice?

With short trips and cold days you will get that, all ok with a long motaway run you will find it all gone. Also with the long filler neck it will have condension more on the cap and neck with the 2.6 and 3.2. I get just the same as you.

You will get a bit of mayo on short journeys during the colder months, check it after a longer run when the oil has had chance to fully heat up, I suspect it will be fine.

only using car for short trips at the moment so perhaps thats it.
just purchased new car and want to sell mine but didnt want to pass on a dud

took it out 2nite for about half an hour and hey presto clear cap.

You need 51 posts before you can use the Sales Board.  This is, I believe, policy to stop folks joining just to sell.

The +50 post rule is really to stop traders using the site as a pimping ground really I think. Have a quiet word (PM) with admin, either 'MarksDTM' or TheBoy'. If they know you're a car enthusiast with an honest car to sell, I don't think they will have any objections and will point you in the right direction as far as posting the ad is concerned.

So what did you get to replace the Omega???

got a brand new sri vectra
i'm gutted really loved my omega (had 2 v6's) but wife won again
