Yes it will jack the passenger side up and it will be visible to you. dont worry it will come off easy!

let me know if you still have snags after you have got it off and dried it out. i might have a spare selector switch some where you could use to see if it is your selector switch.  ill have to have a hunt around next week for you. i am toppers at the mo with work and got a massive exam on tuesday. but i will have a look for you.
