Had a leak on my astra last year went to vauxhalls as had other work being done and they put a dye in to see where it was leaking from think it was just for the cost of a re gas how ever much that is now.

If you take the car to an Aircon specialist they will evacute the system and fill it with an inert gas that shows up under ultraviolet light, this allows them to spot most leaks.

I think by law they have to do the above leaktest before re-gassing the system anyway. When refilled a luminous dye is added along with PAG oil and this is easily spotted if there are any leaks in the future.

How fast does yours leak?

Mine takes two months or so to fail, dye testing and leaving pressurised with nitrogen has not shown where the leak is yet.

I'm tempted to remove the front bumper and panels to check the condensor, whether soapy water will show a leak that small I don't know.
