i have a problem with my omega it still wont rev past 4500 rpm and my mates  code reader still says cam sensor incorrect signal i have now fitted 2 cam sensors the first was a cheap after market 2nd one genuine opel this one had a modified plug and wire .i have also found damaged wires in the long plastic trunking above injectors no3 injector wires insulation had been worn through by one of the wires running through this trunking. could this have damaged the ecu ? are there any common places for the cam sensor wires to break other than the plug end? no 3 plug looked weak  now wires are insulated again all the plugs are same color please help ! :-/

Defo check the belt timing and also make sure the mating surfaces from the metal part of the sensor is clean.

And check the crank sensor.......as this can also cause a cam sensor error (beleave it or not!)
