Engine cuts out!
« on: 28 April 2008, 21:55:17 »

My wifes 2.0 GLS  has started to cut out when running.

It runs perfect until you take your foot off the pedal and then it just cuts out! You can keep it running if you just gently caress the pedal, but the moment you let go it stops running.

Any suggestions or any links to similar problems would be very much appreciated.

Try the paperclip test...sounds like the crankshaft sensor could be faulty...

I thought it might be the ICAV and changed it tonight for a good one I had, but problem was the same.

I'll try the cleaning and also see if I have a Crankshaft sensor problem.

Cheers lads

Clean the throttle body as well and all surrounding breathers (especially one from inlet manifold to the cam cover, had to drill mine it was so clogged!).  Cleaning the ICV alone didn't help mine at all.
