Omega Estate Towbar - Removal/Fitting Help!!!
« on: 09 May 2008, 18:01:04 »

99 Omega Estate...mini facelift...6 bolts, 2 drivers side, 4 passengers side, looks easy...so I initially thought...

The nuts accessed from the underside are easy drivers side, front one on passengers side again no problem...so the other 3 really require the removal of the backbox heatshield and possibly the backbox for ease??? So...am I missing something to make this the easy job it should be???

Am I going to have the same problems refitting it to the late 98 estate?

I think you only have to undo 1 tank strap.

You owe me. How about a free pair of self levellers!

I seem to remember removing the heat shield (and shearing off the bolts) you will probably need to drop the rear box a little

And as previous said, you use one of the fixing bolts for the tank strap which has a spacer underneath which is removed when fixing the towbar

Your right osealy mate, I owe you some free stuff :) However I dont have any elites with HID's :( The one I had before went to the scrappy already and the one your having the box off just missed out on mini facelift so no HIDs so no self levellers :( :(

Managed to break all the studs I have attempted so far on the heat shield...top 2 awkward ones to go...and a tank strap apparently...and the same i reverse, how fun! :(

No. I meant the air shocks. just failed irish mot.
I swopped over a witter tow from cd to elite preface it could all be wiggled under exhaust, just the tank strap to be undone.
