Had a Nissan Primera estate (am I allowed to mention Jap cars on here) before the Omega estate, and once you have had an estate would find it difficult to return to a saloon.
Only drawback you find yourself transporting all sorts of stuff for family and friends, have to start charging.

Totally agree...hard to not have an estate once you have owned one...so very very useful to have that space in the back...really wicked all round...

Hi all
Apologies if on wrong forum what is the difference between Elite Estate and Elite Saloon as one as popped up on ebay and fancy a estate but not sure if i will be disapointed
TIA
Robert

Do bear in mind you must of a certain age to own an estate. You must have 2/3 kids, 1 labrador. I believe pipe/slippers/hat are optional  ;D

Mike
OI I resemble that remark!

Nah, only ever owned estates... ( May have the 2 kids, but not old, no dog / pipe / slippers / peaked cap)

2 Astras
Mazda 626
Omega MV6

They are just too practical and useful  :D

The omega load space is just unbelievable what fits in.

We have a Saloon and the Estate, which is just so more handy  :y
(esp with kids stuff  ;D)

The great feature of an estate is with the back seats down you have an instant bed....great for a dirty afternoon....saves a fortune on hotel rooms! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

I'm shocked Lizzie..  :o :o :o :o :o :o

I must admit I was after an estate but the saloon came up at the right price and I can get a lot of trailer hire out of the difference!!  :y :y

Oh, I am a very practical lady ;D ;D!

As for the trailer Lazydocker; yes that's a good answer to the situation.  When I had estate's I ended up not only having people fill the back up until the suspension was on the floor, but a trailer was hitched up as well! ;D ;D

You acquiring a saloon will avoid this, so keeping everthing 'outside' the car itself. :y

Which is where my Dad comes in handy. He has an estate car, bigger than an Omega though, but very useful.

Whilst I maybe that certain age, but have no kids, a dog of any sort, pipe or slippers but do own a flat cap ::) .

IMO the estate is far more practical and coupled with a towbar you have the best of both. Have earned some diesel money recently by moving a complete bedroom furniture set my car when coupled with my nieghbours 10ft long bed trailer.

Will say though driving round country lanes with 16ft of car and another 14ft of trailer is quite interesting to do. Really want to find a a proper long caravan to have a go at towing that ;)

Particularly on a frosty night! :y

This was normal practice if you ever ran sports cars.

I think my question may have been answered i am of the old bloke flat cap brigade with a dog but one thing i like in a car is a quiet drive  so if an estate is noisier than a car its a sallon my sons van can take the junk etc to the tip

Thanks all
