faulty differential

hiya,,
 thought i`d better start a new post,,last one was about the clicking noise from the under the rear of my car.
 this is still relating to it.
 jacked rear wheel up and turned it by hand, it seem to jam at one point but turned when i applied a little more pressure,, started the car with n/s still jacked the clicking noise was heard,, i felt the dif and could feel a tapping, jacked other side and the same thing,, the opposite CV join that comes out of the dif seemed to be moving up and down while that side was on ground
 can someone advise me if the dif is shot as  i suspect, kinda feels like a tooth is chipped on the crown wheel,, i`m going of the experience i got from rebuilding range rovers but they were full axles,

It might be worth taking the rear cover off and having a look.

Very rare for Omega diffs to cause trouble unless the pinion seal change is buggered up.

So, about 50 quid tops

i`l take the full unit off and open it up,,, is there a info on stripping an omega dif?

Not to easy to strip to be honest.

You have to compress the output bearings a little whilst removing a circlip to release the diff assembly.
