If I want to fit a electric blind to my cdx. What other parts do I need apart from the blind and switch?

I tried searching this but couldn't find a answer

Nothing, though easier to have the rear shelf with hole already cut in it...

Or buy the shelf with the Blind in it, which is what I done, however the blind electric connectors were differrent eg blind came form pre-facelift and fitted to facelift CDX, so thanks to Daz (Loo Knee) and his expert soldering skills wiring was connected, works a treat. There is my old rear shelf which will probably still be at Timbuk's yard.

You have to remove  C pillar trims, remove the back seat passenger pillar handles, disconnect courtesy light, remove seat belts, unbolt from C pillars, remove headreast etc., Its better to remove both rear C pillars, and the brake light housing aswell, after removing the screws on the c pillars, they're just held in by clips. The parcel shelf is held in by small bullet type plastic clips wich you push through from the back of the boot, then a bit of pulling and tugging should get the shelf out (handy with 2 people). Heres some pics below:

Am I correct Mike in believing from that suggested in one of the pictures that there is already a connector built into the car under the parcel shelf for the blind simply to be plugged in? :-?

Is this also true for the facia end, with a connector in place already for the switch? :-?

Yes the wiring is already there in the boot for the shelf, and in the dash behing the blanked off button. The only problem is with the connector in the boot, which if you don't have the same connector, its a bit of a pain, as the loom in the boot is very short, and if need to chop the wires, you end up on your back in the boot

Thanks Mike.  I am now thinking of obtaining a rear blind myself when I can afford it!

Not all cars appear to have the loom, so check for connector first, else you'll be running wires for it...

varies complete shelf with bose covers go for about £50 posted just normal shelf about £35 ish !!
