Another LAMBDA problem
« on: 19 May 2008, 11:59:22 »

Hello.

Can a faulty LAMBDA cause high fuel consumption?

I have the fault code showing, and a replacement is on the way.

Thanks.

I would imagine so. I have the lambda code, and my 2.0 is about 5mpg down...

Where did you get your sensor, and how much was it?

Halfords wanted £92 and Vauxhall dealer wanted an unbelieveable £165.

So I thought it was a good deal!

Its not a bad price for a half decent one, the cheap versions only make good door stops.

I think I'll be popping into the scrapyard!

I thought about the scrapyard myself. But I decided that most of the cars in there were probably scrapped due to Head Gasket/Engine trouble, and hence I could end up with a LAMBDA that is no better than the one I already have.

V good points, but - as this is a £100 car, I'll go down there and pull off every one I can see - one has gotta work ;D
