wobbly headlights
« on: 27 May 2008, 14:22:02 »

sorry i've not been on for a while, non-omega stuff's been taking over!  I do keep checking on here though and it's good to see all's vibrant as ever.

Now I got a problem that i hope someone can help with....random wobbly headlights!  ;D  :o

I've got Xenons which work fine most of the time, only sometimes they wobble. not all the time, not just when idling (although that's the most noticeable time!) but randomly and annoyingly! I got out the car and looked last week and both units inside the lens appeared to be tilting forward and back, fairly rapidly!

I'm not getting any error codes (low beam/headlight etc) nor have i heard any weird noises.

any ideas?! is it something to worry about?    :-/

One last Omega on the drive, one Corsa on the lawn...maybe they'll go to a good home before too long!

Beat me to it Mark...yes Dave your adjusters have gone mate. glass off and try to repair the adjuster if you can otherwise new headlights

And what a job it is..I gave up in the end trying to repair them, the adjuster just seem to crumble every time..in the end I got a old projector and took the adjuster out of that, it seems to have been made of a different plastic.

 :o :o :o oh bugger.

thanks for the knowledgeable replies, and to add to my joblist!  if you take any useful pics mark, I'd be grateful! hope you get done before dinner! hehe :y

i presume adjusters aren't available as a separate part then?!

lucky I do have one spare headlight already, albeit that's done twice the mileage - it may have an unbroken adjuster! a dismantling challenge awaits!
