2.2 cam cover cost
« on: 31 May 2008, 19:19:36 »

How much for a geniune gasket for the 2.2?

Comming back today, i stopped for fuel, and when i checked the oil, noticed a slight damn section of oil round one of the nuts of the cam cover.

Its never been done under my ownership (25k) so its time i put a new gasket on!

Any ideas on the cost?

It is, but sometimes those pipes that are attached to the cover can be really tight to get off and the plastic they attach to becomes brittle with the combination of heat and age.

I did, but ive forgotten how much it cost  :-[, but i think James is pretty spot on with the price  :y

Tho are you sure tunnie, that oil isnt just from a spill from topping it up  :-/ Usually the plug wells start to fill up and oil starts oozing down the side of the engine when the gasket lets go, as it did with mine.
