Hi all
Just gone to check my pollen filter and theres nothing there, what i need to know is if the pollen filter just slides in or does it fit in to another box , all i can see are the heater fans,hay fevers a real bummer

No mate no other box, the filter just slides into the groove

To be honest with you I will be buying one for mine soon myself, and will go to VX as they aren't that dear.

There are 2 types of filter .. a black one (carbon) and a white one (normal) .. the black one is supposed to reduce noxious smells ??

eddie h, your car being a facelift model according to the picture, will need the Active Charcoal filter i.e. the more expensive one. Said that, Vx fitted the old type in my facelift in one of the services and I did not notice any difference.. in theory the old non-Charcoal one is supposed to be no good because it can confuse the Climate ECU on the facelift models (automatic air quality monitoring and all that), but as said I did not notice any change....

Replaced mine and made a big difference to quality of air.

Picked up a carbon one on TC.   Not sure if its the carbon thats made the difference or just the fact the old was looked like it had seen better days!

eddie h, it is under the plastic scuttle cover on the passenger side at the base of the windscreen. It is held in place by two flimsy plsatic clips   that can break easily.... if you pull the clips down, the old filter (if present) should drop slitghtly and you can then take it out.

mine is black, and the grooves full up with shite, must be the original in there. will pick mine up in morning on way to x wifes

For info, Vx official replacement schedule for the pollen filter is every 2 years regardless of mileage.

thanks every one for your help, i was looking in the right place only had the car 8 weeks so still finding things out about it, the bloke who sold it to me said nothing need doing to it, so far have had to do cam cover gaskets ,full service , 2 new tyres, power sounder, and now no pollen filter , having said that love the car , but wish i gone for a V6 like i wanted dont think the mpg would be much more than the 2000
