Mine had Pilot Primacys on it and they were probably the originals.

Pretty sure that companys sell to the cheapest best bidder at the time of sale, as i have a few friends who brought new cars a couple of months difference between and had different branded tyres on them might take some investigating to find out your original.

Can i ask why you want to know?

The historical reason why car manufacturers of mass-production cars vary their tyre makes is so that they are not dependant on one supplier.

The tyre manufactures on the other hand, also prefer to sell smaller amounts to several car manufacturers than having one customer buy their entire production of a specific tyre size, again for business stability reasons.

There is nothing sophisticated to it (unless we are talking supercars etc), they just alternate between the main tyre makers e.g Michelin, Goodyer, Dunlop, Continental, etc, etc... so don't read too much into it.

I would have thought they did what most companys do.  Play one off againt the other and go for the best deal.

The reason i am asking is that i will be changing the tyres very soon because the cheap $hit that is on right now ( Linglong , not my choice !!  ) although great for slideing the ass out , even in the dry , i will need something that will keep me on the road and not destroy the car and newly fitted bodykit  8-) 8-) ::) ::)

Go for anything branded and you will not go wrong.....

Tyres are a frequent discussion on here, personally i rate Dunlop SP9090's however others will say that they are a bit loud and not a grippy as michelin, it's personal choice

As standard they normall came with pirellis or michelin's and either of them are as good as the other IMHO

Indeed... when buying tyres, I usually go to the nearest chain and get whatever they have branded on offer, which is how I got a few sets on Michelins and one set of Contis. But some people are more fussy about the tyre make than other, which is OK....

Fitted Pirelli P7's onto mine and am very happy with them, in the wet and the dry...would have preferred the P-Zero Asimmetrico's that were great on my previous car, but they aren't available with 55 profile (225/16).

I went through a whole 'what tyre' thread a while back and in the end went for Falken FK452s (which I already use on my other cars). Now I've run them in I have to say they are the dogs. Excellent grip wet or dry , I can really throw the old bus around now. Cost about £70 each incl vat and shipping, plus £12 a corner for fitting.
