purchased my omega est about 4 months ago .it a 98 s 2.5td auto with 92.000 miles showing (all mots and service history) .
i have done around 1000 miles in it myself .longest single trip was 165 miles no stop with no problems.  it has been difficult to start when hot ,
when i first purchased the car i had a full service carried out.
car starts fine first thing
it has now cut out on me a total off 4 times twice at speed and twice when slowing down at junctions .
the car has been checked on tech 2 today but no fault code stored
all other checks where fine according to tech 2
any ideas

sounds like a throttle pot prob to me, diesel magic trick usually helps but may not cure or poss a maf fault which is not throwing a code?

Mine's the same .......
It takes a lot of cranking to start after warming-up.
However, when it does fire-up, I get a cloud of fuel-smelling smoke from the exhaust. This tells me that fuel is being delivered to the cylinders.
Any ideas fellas?

I've also noticed that during normal driving that the revs seem slow to pick-up after gear-changes. Once they do pick-up, it soes like a rocket - literally.
Again, any pointers fellas?

does eml light work. if it blinks after gearchange i would suggest it could be pump . code 64 fuel out of range !

The only way to fix that is with a chip  

Was the single biggest difference i noticed after fitting it

first of all omegatoy what is maf fault ?
secondly osealy how do i look at #130228536108
i have run a couple of diesel additives through the system this has not helped

Normally with that, you get EML on, and a code 64 stored...

However, my EML is not presently flashing, though I've previously had code 64 diagnosed.
However, Platty suggests chipping, (which I'm happy to look at), but I'm not sure how this will cure the hot-starting problem, the slow revs build-up, and the code 64 fault code.
I thought the dreaded '64' meant an injection pump change - what do you think of all this? Are these faults linked?

64 points to injection pump, sadly.  Often, it can be the wiper inside the pump that is dirty, hence a can of diesel magic NEAT in the fuel filter, often helps, at least temporarily.

It is possible to lift the top of the pump (3 bolts, and a triangular security bolt), and see the wiper near the top. Be warned, if you do this and damage it, injection pump is knackered, and a new one will be required.

A 64 can be caused with a fault further down in pump, its unlikely this can be repaired DIY.

Sorry that's an ebay item no. Usually the code will only be logged if you hit the throttle when eml is on , then limp home mode.!
