19 is definately Crank sensor mate... there are two types for a V6 one with square edges and one which they call Oval with radiused corners. Oval one is around £50, square one around £70 from Vx.

Er don't you mean knackered?

When mine was breaking down it would not rev over 3000 rpm and was missing terribly.
When they go completely the car will turn over but not fire.

A 19 will give starting problems, rough running, low power etc etc ... it is the signal to the ECU of the engine speed and crank position, these 2 are used to direct the fuel injection and the spark activation ...

If fuel and/or spark are at the wrong time then the engine has serious problems running, other sensors detect this and think other faults are occuring, so more codes are produced.

If it fails completely the ECU thinks the engine is stationary, so gives no sparl/fuel at all .. so it won't start !!

Fix the 19 with a new sensor, the fuel/spark occur at the right time, the other sensors become "happy" and all the codes magically dissapear ..  :y :y :y

Would recommend mate if you have a code 19 to change it.
Else you run the risk of being stuck somewhere

That plus a 19 indicates the sensor is starting to fail ... it will very soon fail completely .... and then you won't bwe able to start the engine ..  :(

Change it NOW ....   :y :y

Change it at the 1st hint of a 19.

Next time you may be at a very busy roundabout, or in a rush and it just wont restart!

There have been more than 1 car on here brought home on a low loader due to crank sensor!

Mine is 1 (with previous owner) , theboy is another, from the south of France!

£30 something quid on tradeclub, and 10 mins tops to change.

Just dont follow the original cable route, poke it through the pipes by the abs module away from anything hot from improved longevity  :y

i bought my mv6 with a naffed cranksensor for £200!

anyway i bought a cheap and nasty fuel parts one as an experiment to see if that fixed it yes it did but the cheap and nasty sensor lasted till the end of may! buy a genuine VX Bosch sensor as it will last 100k+

also it is dangerous driving around with a faulty sensor

often get erroneous maf code (73) when car cuts out due to 19.

Fix 19. It will shaft you. Been there, done that, always carry a spare crank sensor now ::)

I am pretty sure 31 is because your doing the paperclip test without the car running....
Thought you said there was a 19 code?
Are you sure your reading them right mate?
