Most likely to be a stuck lever due to dried grease or a spec of grit then. Keep spraying WD or penetrant into it and jiggle. If it comes free I would still strip it and clean it properly, looking for burrs etc.

Any chance you used a wrong key just before this happened?

but suggest you get it sorted one way or the other while you can still turn it, otherwise you have a much bigger problem.

matchless - I'm interested to know how to strip the barrel too - couldn't see how to do that.

Well im in the shit now, copious amounts of WD, lots of wiggling and it wont budge :'(
