Just joined today, what a great information resource this is. Been trying to get my doorcard off for sometime now I have the instructions with photos and instructions for replacing my central locking motor. Thanks to all.

My other problem is my glovebox lock. I'm sorry if this has been done before but I've used the search system and get no relevant listings.

My Glovebox latch is broken. I've got a replacement glovebox from a scrapper but I want to transfer the lock barrel ebfore swapping them over. I can't see how to separate the lid from the box. I have removed the hinge pins and the eight screws (4 top, 4 bottom) but it's still stuck fast. I don't want to force it for obvious reasons. Does anyone here know what else I've got to do? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My top tip for barrel change isto have the key in the lock when you do it, Then you wont lose all the pins and springs

The broken one indicates that the barrel is located just using two plastic retaining clips built into the handle. If I can get the lid off and gain access to the back of the handle I am hopeful that I can just release the clips with a screwdriver and simply push the replacement barrel through the handle until the retaining clips engage with the groove on the barrel. But I've got to get the lid off first.

Remove the whole unit, take off the back of the door and pop out the old lock, new ones are cheap new £5 maximum I think

I did mine.
You take out the hinge pins and take off the damper. take the back off and there is a metal plate that is screwed to the front panel. take that off and the lock is below.

Thanks Jeudu yours was the tip I needed to get this done.

OK, once you have disconnected the damper you can take the frame off the lid and you're left left with the black backing and four more screws are revealed, once removed you still cannot get the black door backing off unless you operate the door latch, mine was broken so I had to put my thumb inside and depress the button and hey presto, the backing comes off. The Lock mechanism is shielded by a steel plate which comes off by sliding upwards. There you have it. Lid removed and stripped.
