would like to improve breaks as well, personally, although i was under doing oil change the weekend and noticed 10-15 mil of un used disc on the outside edge!>:( some buggers fitted the wrong pads i guess. I bet they are bloody stepped now as well.
Always wonder about fitting goodridge lines, myself. First thing you do in the bike world. Anybody tried it?

same brakes already.

What's wrong with your brakes anyway? I drive a 3.2 with the same brakes on as yours and I have yet to reach their limit.

i have read replys from Mark dtm on this, that the servo governs the feel/pressure/power(etc?) at the pedal. Other people driving my car agree that not much happens at first at the pedal, they work, obviously, just in a differant way. All things relative, n all that. Just keep thinking, would like a bit more "power" from the brakes! For instance, when i got in my Dads old mondeo and braked for the first time, i almost locked all 4 wheels they where that strong. You get used to all, in the end.

Miggy brakes are "progressive" .. not "linear" ... so the "feel" is totally different to most cars...

The harder you press the more braking force is applied by the servo, this gives smooth braking with a light push, heavy braking when you push hard, now many folks say they can do this with their foot, the miggy servo just helps, just feels odd to start.

If you doubt your brakes, get on a clear bit of road, turn off the ABS and brake very hard from about 20mph, you'll probably lock all wheels with ease, even in the dry.

Only repeat this if you enjoy buying tyres   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thats a typical naff ford brake setup.....over servo'd to lull you into the feeling that the brakes are brilliant (as seems all to common on cars these days)

The Omega will out brake a Mondeo without even thinking about it!

The biggest problem with Omega brakes is that when you do use them in anger you end up looking in your rear view mirror to see whats going to idiot you up the arse!

yep. Understand all that, could just do with a bit more response at the start, for my personal taste. Standard set up fine, all as vx wanted. Just that "i" ,and Shaun, fancy a bit more from them! Anybody got a tip? Or are we in the world of Chavy tune ups?::)

my brakes seem to over heat with out too much spirited driving, but i like to brake late and hard, but when i try this in the miggy the pedal goes very spongey and when i stop all i can smell is cooked pads, almost as if the standard brakes aren't good enough for the car

jack and spin the wheels by hand and see if they are binding? causing excess heat. not seen much talk of binding caliper pistons on here tho.
change the fluid and if no better fit some sporty pads. ebc or similar.  :y
but if you hammer the brakes you will get a spongy pedal

Its a 2 tonne executive saloon, not a rally car !!!!

The brakes are excelent for what they were designed for, sensible, comfortable cruising, and with the cost of fuel a more "gentle" approach to your driving would probably save you a small fortune !!!
