Dis Pack
« on: 19 June 2008, 22:25:20 »

What are the signs of a failing Dis pack, all plugs and leads changed. Only concern is when i changed leads No.6 lead was damaged and arcing. Not sure if this would of caused damage to the Dis pack. The car syptoms are lack of power and uneven running. No vacuum leaks. Only error code is the crank sensor which i already changed.

hi mate, the dis-pack normally causes bad mis-fire on cold start as normally gets moisture in,as engine warms up dries dis-pack out mis-fire goes, have you checked h.t. lead ends that go on plugs if they are oil soaked or arking out?the dis-paks normlly spit around the joint of where they mould them,if its that bad you would see or hear spark jumping, especially now its dark?,have you also put the leads on correct terminal of pack&fireing order? good luck, curly.

All leads and plugs are new and also crank sensor. Only found broken lead when changing, since VX moron broke it doing the cam gaskets. The engine every now and then at idle does a dip in revs and then goes up slightlly and recovers back to normal. Not sure if this is a duff replacement plug (VX plugs) or do i need to start looking elsewhere?
