Very alarming problem!
« on: 23 June 2008, 09:06:00 »

Over the last week or so a problem with my alarm seems to be developing. At least four or five times now I have unlocked the car with the key fob, no problem, turned the key in the ignition and the bloody alarm goes off. Whats going on??

Hi amego52, tell me, when your alarm does go off is it a siren type noise and do the indicators flash on and off as well or is it a beep beep car horn type sound?. If its a siren noise without indicators flashing then it could be the sounder horn thats dying (or the ni-cad batteries in it).

I had a similiar  problem with my Omega. The car battery was low and not recharging properly so when I replaced it the problem cleared. My central locking was playing up as well but  cleared with the new battery.
Hope it helps.

Hi I have also had the same problem with my alarm going off when I turn on the ignition but also now the siren alarm keeps going off when the car is locked, had this problem about 4 years ago when the main dealer replaced faulty siren-cost best part of £200! Can't beleive this can be the same problem so soon  again.
