The Bosal/Walker you buy direct are inferior quality to what they supply to Vauxhall.
Where do you have this information from?
Experience
I wouldn't put my experience on that :) - new GM exhaust last ca 4-6 years, same as Walker and Bosal.
New products (GM, Bosal, Walker or any GM supplier) are not the same as the were 10 years ago.
"No name, High quality products" are much worse, last up to 2 years.

Same thing with shocks - my mom has original GM (Sachs) shocks in her 98 Omega, while Opel has many claims about new GM geniune Sachs - they tend to leak in 2 year old cars!.
Reason? Production of most components was moved from Germany around 00-04 to cut costs.

BTW - which GM exhaust components are on the TC discount list?

I would like to see a patten exhaust last 7 years and 100k.....

I have Omega 2.2. I found that mid boxes were changed in 2005. So GM genuine last only 5 years. New ones are from Walker, and according to your words should be in pieces now - there's no sign of rust or any loudness.
Exhaust in my 2.0 was replaced in 2004 (5 years), and when I bought the car, box was empty and loud (GM Genuine). I bought Bosal year ago and since then it's running on LPG and in town (2miles at the time) and there no sign of rust again.

Cheap products from motorists centres are not the same as Walker and Bosal. I tried them and agree that these last up to 2 years (especially when running on LPG).

Depends how the car has been driven.

5 years GM on town runs is still twice as long as pattern.

I have driven V6's with GM zorst, and bosal, there is a massive difference.

At the end of the day, buy what you like, its your choice, but from my experiance and my dads, get GM.

I don't really see why we are disucssing it so much, GM is £100 cheaper, and last longer! end of story!

Yes, I agree. Can you plese tell me at which Vx dealer I can get exhaust for 2.2 (from downpipe to back box) for £220? It's a hell a good price.

You need a Trade Club card, to get it at that price.

You could join ABS (autobahnstomers) their membership (£25 iic) gets you trade prices, but not all dealers accept it.

Worth joining, you get the membership fee back easily.

I was thinking about it, but there’s so many issues – not every dealer accept TC, not every item is on the list. I cant get the discount list to check what items i need and will I get a discount.

If I would have bosal/Walker in similar price to GM – I would take GM.
Tunie – you wrote that you got exhaust for your 2.2 for £220. What part of exhaust was it? Few months ago I have asked GM dealer about exhaust system to my 2 Omegas. Just searched my e-mails  and found a quotation for Omega X reg saloon 2.2 (I was looking for a cat, as mine is clogged):
-Downpipe incl cats – ca £450
-Back box - £211
-Mid box (one)– £160

Once you have a TC ..even an ABS one, you can ask for access to the TC web site, takes about 12 hours to get !!

Once you have this access you can see ALL TC offers at any time ( well except the 3 months it took them to redo the site ... :( )

It is not difficult to find a dealer that takes TC, and once a "rapport" is established with them then other things seem to occur .. eg, I get full "trade" discount on non-TC items, without even asking for it... and I'm also told of trade "specials" the local dealers may be running - ok I only get this info when I'm there, rather than by e-mail etc ... - and it rarely is in the areas I'm interested in - but at least the dealers are making an effort IMHO.

This happens at my local dealers Skurrays, Swindon ... but when i had a smal problem on holiday in Southampton I got an identical service from Picador, purely on producing the ABS TC

IMHO its a no-brainer NOT to have one .. £20 well spent and you can save that on your first visit ..   :)

twin centre sections and a back box.

Can you please give me their web site address? I cannot find it now.
Any way my last big order was to rebuild an engine, and was told that none of items I was looking for are on the TC list :(

Tunnie – that is a hell a good price comparing to prices I  got from GM dealer (including discounts). I am looking for a downpipe with cats – what price I could buy it?

Tunnie - 2.2 estate centre sections not TC items

mkaminski100 - all dealers that participate in TC (list on tradeclub.co.uk) will take 'club' cards, sometimes you have to point out TC membership number to them.  TC only covers 'service' parts, so engine rebuild stuff would not be included.

I found that AutoBahnStormers TC is only for V6 users – do you think they might have a problem issuing a card for 4POT owner?

You only need an "interest" in the V6 to be eligible to join ..... as you are obviously jealous of the power, smoothness and flexibility of the V6, this displays the required degree of "interest" .. so join up ..  :y :y :y
