evening everybody, just bought a cheap 2.5 omega, first job is cambelt and water pump can someone tell me  the best place to get the parts to do the job, i have the dvd (excellent) also to purchase the crank/ cam locking tool, i have applied for the discount card on thurs don't when it will arrive, can you use ordinary antifreeze or is the red stuff better from vauxhall iam going to give it a good service and complete over thankyou in advance for you help

Good deal going on the Red all year round anti freeze at the mo, would get all the parts where ever possible on TC card, the savings alone on the water pump cover the cost of the card.

There is someone on Fleabay that sells good Cambelt Kits aren't sure who but they cost around £70.... the water pumps I would get from Vx around £30... Cam Locking Tools seem to be quiet hard to drop on but they do come up from time to time again on fleabay...
Red anti freeze is the one you need mate it is longer lasting too :y

found this on ebay crank/cam locking tool 2.5/3.0 59.99 p&p 12.99 item no. 330239930555 is this a reasonable price 10 available.

Apparently Sykes and Pickavant are one of the best locking Kits to get there have been some problems with the Laser type..

for that money, you should be able to pick up an SP one, which does appear to be better quality...

thanks everybody for the info, i decided not to buy the car and am now thinking about a 1999 2.2l facelift is the crank/cam locking tool for this car the same one as for the 2.5. any info onthe 2.2 would be very helpful thankyou.
