Will a 2 litre power steering pump fit a 2.5??

Hey all

As title says will the power steering pump from a 2 litre omega fit a 2.5v6 omega?? Thanks all

IIRC it will physically but you'll lose your servotronic assistance.

An electrickery input to the steering pump - Ask MarksDTM for an explanation :-[ - that gives you more assistance at low speed & little if any at speed.

Sounds kool!!! But the steering in my 2.5 was not any different than the steering in my 2 litre!!! Wud u feel the difference??

I'd have thought so, but I've never driven a 2.0 car. Or maybe the pump in your 2.5 was fubar'd. :-/  :y

Servotronic speed-sensitive system on V6/2.5TD engines pre face lift ie '99 models, developed by Bosch, quote -  "which progressively reduces the amount of assistance it provides as the speed of the vehicle increases. Maxium assistance is provided at low speeds for effortless parking". re 1999 Edition Number 2 Omega catalogue. Feel sure my 'Y' reg 2.2 diesel Elite had the same system, others will know.
