fitting leather interior HELP
« on: 27 June 2008, 16:15:21 »

I am trying to fit a full leather interior out of a cdx into my v6 and the door cards are pretty easy(although there doesn't seem to be wiring in my door to plug into the lights on the front door card)and the front seats i cannot fit,the front bolts fit in alright but the back ones seem to be 1/2 inch to short!!! :'(and there is a yellow wire off the chair but again no wire in my car to plug it into)can somebody help me please and advise me what to do?? ::)could i get different bolts but longer?

The wire off the seats usually relates to SRS/Airbag system.
Did the old interior have airbags in the seats. or do the new ones. Cant help on the other probnlems, sorry

For wiring the seat mate, are there some sockets under the carpet between the sill 'kick plate' and the seat runner nearest to you? The only things I think it could possibly be (to jog your memory) are Airbag, height/forward/aft adjustment, heated seat, seatbelt pretensioner? Memory function? There may be some re-wiring involved.

You really need someone who's done the job before, of which there are a few, they'll be along later. I think 'Elite-Pete' might be your man to ask?

Please post up some more details of your car spec in the meantime, hope you get it sorted  :y Will look nice when it's done.

Connecting/disconnecting airbags is ok, providing you disconnect the battery first  :y

Does a 1999 car not have a full complement of airbags then? I thought that was an introduction on the 'mini-facelift'???

Indeed elite leather interior will have longer bolts...no idea why, just know they have...the yellow connector is for the airbags...surprising that your 99 Omega didnt have airbags in the seats previously but dont worry about it, just leave the yellow lead from the seats unplagged and all is well :)
