Hi,

This might be a stupid and also rather trivial question given all the other tales of woe on here, so apologies in advance.

When I got the car 18 months ago (2000, 2.5 V6 facelift) the nearside rear door ashtray was missing, I eventually found a brand new one on fleabay last week (£8).  It is only now having fitted the new one that I realise the little arm/lever which acts as the locking – unlocking mechanism inside the ashtray door-well is also missing (its about half inch long and fits into a hole inside the door well and locates in a narrow channel on the side of the ashtray). So although the new ashtray fits fine, it won’t stay closed!

Does anyone know if this part is available from VX, or am I looking at a breakers yard job? It is such an insignificant part but really annoying not having it. No doubt it would require the door card coming off to fit?

you will need to replace the whole black plastic thing that the ashtray sits in, mine has done the same
