I've heard they fail MOTs to get more work in.

GM exhaust around £250, shocks £40 each, discs/pads £70 all for genuine parts on TC, +VAT.

Springs, £30 from factors

Which is why my cars go to an MOT station that doesn't do repairs, so he couldn't give a monkey's left gonad, from a financial view, whether it passes or fails.

I am half wondering if they are ripping me off...
Apparently they can fail brakes if they 'look worn'...
methinks they have a bit too much power....

Oh dear, bad luck  :(

Thought it was down to the brake efficiency test unless something was actually lose / hanging off with a visual inspection.  :-/

How convenient... it's failed on all the basic yet profitable components that Nationwide supply....

Is there not a minimum thickness for discs? Or to put it another way, measure them? With a micrometer? LOOK warn... ? Mariva 2 doors down went in for service at vx, advised new discs! Why? they will fail Mot. No wear at all, they look tatty, true, but no wear. Old ish car no miles lives outside, rusty discs fail an mot do they?  Bo@@erx! Sorry but they do my bloody Nut In..... what where we talking about... Oh yeah, me, i would find cheapest price for exhaust and do the rest myself. 400 the lot sounds tempting tho.

They are robbing GITS, do NOT take this back, father tunnie was told stuff needed doing to his, when it did not.

First, take this to another independet MOT place and get it checked again, nationwide quote for work not needed.

Front Discs and Pads - £80 fix with GM parts
Rear Shocks Leaking Excessively - £100 fix with GM parts
Centre exhaust box leaking - £250 for Cat back GM exhaust, DO NOT FIT PATTERN
Rear Box corroded
Rear coil springs need replacing £40 each KYB which are OEM fit.
O/S Headlamp Aim too high £0

So £500 to fix using GM bits  ;)  :y
