2.5 td  Viscous fan.  Suck or Blow
« on: 08 July 2008, 13:53:57 »

Just had to replace the water pump twice due to a failed viscous coupling.  I separated the fan from the coupling and bought a new coupling from a scrappy. Now I can't remember if the fan blows onto the rad or sucks from the rad.   Help please.

Sucks air through the rad towards the engine. Wish my V6 had a viscous!

I am bloody over the moon my V6 has not got a viscous.....very in-efficient and not as reliable as an electric unit.

Anyway, consider the fan blade design and you will soon realise that by turning it round you dont alter the direction in which it blows!
