Maf sensor question....???...
« on: 16 July 2008, 21:04:33 »

I've Just done a paper clip test today on my 3ltr elite and its come back with a fault code of

73   Mass Air Flow Sensor Voltage Low

Couple of days ago she started to lose rev's while crusing on the motorway, i had only been driving for about an hour when it started to happen ....

If i dipped the clutch or changed down a gear the revs came back ....

After getting this reading today i took off the plug and gave it a good blow and put it back to gether , she seems fine at the mo ..but ....???

Does anybody know a bit more about the 73 code or was it as simple as just pushing the plug back on ....???

Only reason for asking is i've got a couple of trips to do this next couple of weeks and i would just like a bit of piece of mind really....lol

any help is most welcome....

cheers Phil   :y

I think its quite rare for the MAF sensor to pack up but I do know that oiled filters like K+N cause problems

MAF failure rare on v6, unless you used chaved up air filters.

More likely an air leak, or my new theory, a failing crank sensor (untested theory!)
