ingnition barrel swap

Hi i want to changed the ignition barrel , iknow i need to swap over the ECU but which one the one under the bonnet or in the drivers foot well?
and is there anything else i need to do?

If you just want to change the igniton barrel then you dont need to touch anything electrical.

I thought the key was coded to the immobilizer /alarm . i have 2 keys and 2 remotes from another omega and my one the barrel is past its best.

It is ut it is a unit that sits around the barrel not actually part of the switch  :y
 A new barrel to match the original is only about £30 comes with a key but not the chip too
